On Friday, April 25th from 10.30AM, our school hosted a delightful Strings Ensemble Concert that showcased the incredible talents of our student musicians. The evening kicked off with the Little Amadeus Orchestra, who transported the audience with their performance of Vivaldi's Concerto No. 7 in D Major, featuring four talented soloists who added brilliance to the piece. They continued with the passionate Toreador Song by Bizet, followed by a charming rendition of Mozart's Minuet and Trio, which uplifted everyone's spirits. The first half of the concert concluded with Scott Joplin's joyful The Entertainer, leaving the audience with smiles.
The Sonorous String Quartet then took the stage, performing Mozart’s Quartet No. 1 in G Major. Their performance elegantly showcased the intricate interplay of the strings. They followed this with Schubert's Serenade, a piece that resonated with beautiful emotion and longing.
To wrap up the concert, the Harmony Strings Orchestra presented a captivating selection of works. They began with Handel’s majestic Arrival of the Queen of Sheba, setting a regal tone for the audience. This was followed by the lively and enchanting Polovtsian Dance from Borodin, which invited the audience to imagine dancing along. In a unique highlight, they introduced Poupart-Taussat's new composition, Childhood Memories, for piano and strings, evoking fond recollections of youth. The concert concluded with Bartók's spirited Romanian Dance No. 1, which brought the event to a lively finish.
Overall, the concert was a wonderful celebration of music, showcasing the hard work and dedication of all our talented musicians. Thank you to everyone who attended and supported our young artists!
